About Me

Music & Sound Design

Jan Schneider composes music and creates sonic worlds for film, TV, advertising and trailers. His work ranges from atmospheric underscore and cinematic textures to hybrid electronic compositions with a strong sense of dramatic purpose. At the center of everything is emotional impact: how sound shapes tension, carries narrative and sharpens the rhythm of a picture.

His musical foundation was laid early — at nine years old, a Hohner organ and the fascination of shaping sounds from scratch. What followed were first synthesizer experiments, a musical world shaped by synth-pop, post-punk, ambient and techno — and a lasting interest in immersion, depth and the emotional qualities of space and synthesis.

Since 2018, Jan Schneider has been working professionally in music and sound design. His first production music album was released through the German music publisher UBM Media.

TV Editing & Post-Production

Since 2004, Jan Schneider has worked as a freelance TV editor, specialising in documentary, docutainment and reality formats. Over more than two decades, he has developed a precise sense of dramaturgy, pacing and emotional timing — the ability to shape raw material into stories that work. This experience sets him apart from composition and editing specialists alike: someone who knows both sides — picture and sound, montage and music — brings a collaboration that speaks the same language from the first briefing to the final cut.
